Richard Shelton (Richard Eddie Shelton) was born on January 2, 1966 in Marietta, Georgia. After going to high school at Marietta (GA), Shelton attended Liberty University. Shelton made his professional debut in the NFL in 1989 with the Denver Broncos. He played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Denver Broncos over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1991 was Richard Shelton's best year, as he picked off 3 passes and ran back an interception for a touchdown.
