Born on January 10, 1959 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Richard Dotson (Richard Elliott Dotson) played for the Chicago White Sox, New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 12 year career. Dotson broke into the bigs on September 4, 1979 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 4.27 ERA in 198 innings pitched in 1980, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Richard Dotson's best season was 1983, when he posted a 3.22 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 137 batters.
