Born on March 1, 1963 in Downey, California, Rich Rodriguez (Richard Anthony Rodriguez) played for the San Diego Padres, Florida Marlins, St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, Cleveland Indians, Texas Rangers and Anaheim Angels over the course of his 13 year career. Rodriguez broke into the bigs on June 30, 1990 with the San Diego Padres, and put up a 3.26 ERA in 80 innings pitched in 1991, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Rich Rodriguez's best season was 1992, when he posted a 2.37 ERA and struck out 64 batters.
