Born on August 4, 1944 in Oakland, California, Rich Nye (Richard Raymond Nye) played for the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and Montreal Expos over the course of his 5 year career. Nye broke into the bigs on September 16, 1966 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 3.20 ERA in 205 innings pitched in 1967, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Rich Nye's best season was 1967, when he posted a 3.20 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 119 batters.
