Rich Kotite (Richard Edward Kotite) was born on October 13, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York. After going to high school at Poly (Brooklyn, NY), Kotite attended the University of Miami and Wagner College. Kotite made his professional debut in the NFL in 1967 with the New York Giants. He played for the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that 1971 was Rich Kotite's best year.
