Rich Harris (Richard Drew Harris) was born on January 21, 1948 in Shreveport, Louisiana. After going to high school at Bethune (Shreveport, LA), Harris attended Grambling State University. Harris made his professional debut in the NFL in 1971 with the Philadelphia Eagles. He played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks and Chicago Bears over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1972 was Rich Harris's best year, as he recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
