Rex Bumgardner (Rex Keith Bumgardner) was born on September 6, 1923 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. After going to high school at Victory (WV), Bumgardner attended West Virginia University. Bumgardner made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1948 with the Buffalo Bills. He played in the AAFC for 2 years, playing for the Buffalo Bills the entire time. Bumgardner also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Cleveland Browns the entire time.
Most people believe that 1949 was Rex Bumgardner's best year, as he caught 4 TD passes.
