Born on December 19, 1924 in Omaha, Nebraska, Rex Barney (Rex Edward Barney) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 6 year career. Barney broke into the bigs on August 18, 1943 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and put up a 5.87 ERA in 53.2 innings pitched in 1946, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Rex Barney's best season was 1948, when he posted a 3.10 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 138 batters.
