The results are in for the top 10 hitters of all time! This was a close, two man race between Ted Williams and Babe Ruth, who combined to take 12 of the top 14 first-place votes. Williams ended up winning by a point, 133-132. Call it a tie if you wish.
Lou Gehrig ranked third, though he was well back with 87 points. Next came Ty Cobb, who captured a first place vote, and Barry Bonds, who was only named on 8 ballots. Rogers Hornsby finished in a strong sixth, while Stan the Man and The Say-Hey Kid tied for 7th.
Jimmie Foxx and Pete Rose rounded out the top 10. Only players with multiple votes were counted.
