Report: Nash to win MVP

8
Vote

The Phoenix Suns' Steve Nash has been awarded the NBA's MVP award according to several Arizona area newspapers.

This will be Nash's second straight MVP award coming in a season where he took the Suns to an unexpected second seeding in the playoffs. Without sidekick Amare Stoudemire, he tallied 18.8 pts, 4.2 rebounds, and shot a blazing 51.2% from the field.

Nash edged Kobe Bryant, Chauncey Billups, and LeBron James in the voting.

Kobe's got to be asking himself, "What do I have to do?" Apparently 35.4 PPG and 81 in a game ain't what they used to be.

Kobe will never win an MVP unless the Lakers win the West. The Lakers minus Shaq and Phil aren't the same team. If Kobe were so valuable, he'd carry the squad more.

He'd carry the squad more?!?!?! 35.4 points a game isn't carrying a squad? And correction, it's the Lakers minus Shaquille, Phil is there now. What exactly would you have him do to carry the squad? 62 points in three quarters against 61 from the entire opposing team? Averaging 42.5 points against the Suns in the regular season isn't carrying a team? I guess the Lakers made the playoffs because of Smush Parker's strong play or was it Chris Mihm dominating the middle?? (I'm a huge Lakers fan so no disrespect to Chris or Smush, using them for reference only) Kobe removed from the Lakers is more detrimental than any other player removed from their respective team....which equates to MVP.

As far as the anonymous fanatic(with opinions like that I understand your anonymity), rape is a strong word to use with no conviction!

Nash has never won the West and this is two in a row for him. Doing the same thing the Jason 'I never got it' Kidd did a couple of years ago for the Nets. And Kidd was winning conferences.

Sorry -- I meant to say that's the logic of the voters.

I loved on ESPN today, when the announcer (i forget who it was), goes "This is unprecedented, no one has won back to back MVP's since Tim Duncan did it with the Spurs in 2002-2003." Wow, we went one whole season without someone winning it back to back, that really is unprecedented!
