Report: Huard Injured in Practice this Week

It was reported Friday that Chiefs backup and currently acting quarterback Damon Huard was injured in Thursday's practice. His status for Sunday's game is not known. Huard was playing in relief for Trent Green, who is still at least two weeks from returning. If Huard is unable to go Sunday, the Chiefs would have to turn to their rookie QB Brodie Croyle.

Oh, and a note to Brodie Croyle: If you do have to start, if you could pull one of those Roethlisberger or Leinart kind of rookie performances, that would be grrrrrrrrrreat. Yeah, you might give those guys a call. You may have to listen to Matt brag about a newborn, but it should be worth it...

I just grabbed Croyle in my keeper league. I'm a bit annoyed. My plan was to take him later, not now, but this forced my hand a tad.

Well, you know, Herm had to deal with Pennington AND Feidler being injured last year. Then Green goes down and we think his luck turns when Huard turns out pretty good. Well, now it appears that the football Gods just wanted to show him how good of a backup he was going to lose to injury. With any luck Croyle will play like Leinart and subsequently get injured...
