The tragic news about Cory Lidle have left many of us in a state of shock. I created a page in order to give readers and writers alike the opportunity to share their thoughts, and the thoughts of others, in one central location.

Go to Wiki Memorial Page: Cory Lidle and add links to any articles, blogs, pictures, etc. on Cory Lidle.

I'm aware this is a fan site and tribute but I can't step aside not saying that Cory Lidle put in extremely danger the lives of many innocents, not to mention the huge impact in security issues that US authorities will have to explain to the world community.

This is the link of the live coverage of this foul play plane crashing on that residential New York building recorded live from my TV screen on different cable stations from around the world covering this horrid event in progress, October 11, 2006. http://www.y...=s87e67I5pGA

It's a fair take on all points.

Good point, but I don't think he was intending for this to happen. Unless it comes out that Lidle could've landed the plain in the river or used the parachute or something, it was an accident. It's not like he did anything wrong by flying a plane; it's usually a perfectly safe and legal thing to do.

While it would've been much worse had innocent people died (that's strange to say as it seems Lidle and the instructor were innocent as well), it wouldn't have been blamed on Lidle.

It's amazing that we live in a time where when anything happens someone somewhere got it on video...

"Amazing". I would use the word "sad".

Why's it sad? We know more about things that happen - good or bad. It's better see things first hand than believe eyewitnesses who are prone to embelishment.

According to The New York Times: Local pilots with experience traveling through New York City’s busy and tricky airspace said that Lidle’s plane appeared to have followed the rules when he turned left, but that they knew better alternatives: either pilots get clearance from La Guardia, which would not have been a problem on Wednesday; or just skip the East River altogether and go up the Hudson River; or request permission to turn right and make a U-turn that carries them over a sliver of Queens.

One pilot said that he would rather run the risk of receiving a citation by flying without permission through La Guardia airspace than attempting the left turn that Lidle's plane did: This is to put innocent lives in danger! Meanwhile, tens of thousands of people died today (and everyday) and we don't even bat an eyelash... I was in Vegas this week and the hotel, New York, New York had a makeshift memorial for Lidle. Ridiculous
