Reid Nichols (Thomas Reid Nichols) was born on August 5, 1958 in Ocala, Florida. He made his Major League debut on September 16, 1980 for the Boston Red Sox. In 1982, his rookie year, he hit .302 with 7 home runs and 33 RBI. Nichols played for the Boston Red Sox, Chicago White Sox and Montreal Expos over the course of his 8 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Reid Nichols's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1983, when he hit for a .285 average. However, others believe that it was 1982, when he hit for a .302 average.
