Reggie Ritter

Born on January 23, 1960 in Malvern, Arkansas, Reggie Ritter (Reggie Blake Ritter) played for the Cleveland Indians for his entire 2 year career. Reggie signed as an undrafted free agent in 1982 and made it to the Major Leagues in just over "3" minor league seasons. Ritter broke into the bigs on May 17, 1986 with the Cleveland Indians. Reggie was hit in the face by a line drive off the bat of Juan Beniquez on August 7th, 1987. He suffered a broken jaw and was on the disabled list for 30 days before returning to actve status 30 pounds lighter due to a wired shut jaw. Reggie never returned to the Major Leagues after the '87 season.
