Redsox on Soriano. Yawn.

11
Vote

The Boston Red Sox appear uninterested in the possibility of aquiring 2B Alfonso Soriano. The Washington Nationals, who acquired Soriano in the off-season from the Texas Rangers, approached the Red Sox about a trade involving Alfonso Soriano. The Red Sox have reportedly showed interest in Soriano in the past.

Unless David Wells wants to go to Washington, it remains unlikely that the two teams will reach an agreement. The Nationals view Matt Clement as too costly and the Red Sox will probably not move Bronson Arroyo after they just signed him to a three-year contract.

I don't want Soriano on the Mets. He won't do well at Shea.

I heard a rumor this morning that the Red Sox may try get either Church or Johnson from the Nats for Arroyo.

I think the Sox got a steal when they signed Loretta.

Soriano is an awful defender who gets on base as often as Richard Hidalgo. He's basically Rob Deer with speed. Not worth $10m.

I bet he hits around .260 with no more than 25 HRs. That's not worth 10 million in my book.

I bet if A-Rod went to RFK and played in that miserable lineup and huge ballpark he would hit .280 with 35 hr., doesn't make him less of a player. Don't Condemn Sorriano, because he is on a bad team.

Hey, A-Rod is a team player. He went to 3rd because the Yanks needed him to, to keep Jeter at short. Soriano won't change from 2nd though the Nats have a 2nd baseman they want to keep, Vidro, so Soriano whines. Looks like the Yanks trade of Soriano for A-Rod keeps looking better and better!

Arroyo's deal was like 3 years 14 mil...just in terms of cash he is a bargain for most small market teams and probably has the most trade value out of any starter the Sox have .(minus Beckett and the young guns)

"I think the Sox got a steal when they signed Loretta." It gets better...we actually traded our backup catcher for a potential all-star second baseman!!
