Reds Resign Hatteberg

The Cincinnati Reds re-signed Scott Hatteberg to a one-year $1.5 million extension for 2007 with a club option for 2008. Hatteberg has bounced back from a poor 2005 season, hitting .324 with a .417 obp and .505 slugging percentage in 275 at-bats.

Don't usually see a club option for the year BEFORE the regular contract runs out. You mean an option for 2008?
