Redick Shoots Way to Record

Duke University guard J.J. Redick broke the NCAA record for career three-point field goals Tuesday night, nailing four treys in Duke's 93-70 win over Wake Forest.
Curtis Staples, who played from 1994 to 1998 at Virginia, had held the record with 413 threes. Redick now has 416, 98 of them coming this season. "It's a special night, to set a national record is very neat and I'm proud," Redick said.
"I've tried not to focus on the records. I've tried to focus on what our team's doing," Redick said. "We're having a heck of a season as a team, and that's been a lot of fun to be a part of."
This likely won't be the only record Redick breaks before he's done, however. In increasing his career point total to 2,527, he now stands 60 points behind Dickie Hemric's long-standing ACC scoring record.
In addition, Redick still leads Gonzaga's Adam Morrison in the race for the scoring title, 28.9 to 28.8.
