San Diego Chargers 23, Tennessee Titans 17 - Whatever happened to the Chargers actually being a fun team to watch? Oh ya, Norv Turner arrived. This was just an ugly game that went into overtime LaDainian Tomlinson scored to end it. Quarterbacks Phillip Rivers and Vince Young were both unable to complete the game was their backups Billy Volek and Kerry Collins each took snaps under center. The Titians had this one in the bag before falling apart.
Buffalo Bills 38, Miami Dolphins 17 - Miami really, really sucks! Sorry but there is simply no other way to put it. I never thought that they would give up 38 points to an average Bills team. Rookie quarterback Trent Edwards threw four touchdown passes. Both Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch had over 100 yards rushing. At 7-6, Buffalo is a threat to make the playoffs. Yes, Jim Mora, playoffs!
Green Bay Packers 38, Oakland Raiders 7 - Too bad I missed a fun game here. Two special teams touchdowns from Will Blackmon (punt return and fumble recovery on a punt) helped to seal the victory and an NFC North title. Brett Favre’s arm appeared okay as he tossed two touchdowns and Ryan Grant had another 100 yard rushing game.
Dallas Cowboys 28, Detroit Lions 27 - It has got to be difficult being a Detroit Lions fan. God The Lions had a chance to add on to a 27-20 lead but fumbled the ball. Then Tony Romo led the troops down the field and connected with Jason Witten for a touchdown with only seconds left. Marion the Barbarian had 3 scores for the Boys, to help orchestrate the comeback.
Cincinnati Bengals 19, St. Louis Rams 10 - How bad are both of these teams? You would think that with all the firepower that the Bengals have on offense that they would be able to score a bunch of points against the weak Rams' defense. This wasn't the case, as they had just one touchdown and four Shayne Graham field goals.
Houston Texans 28, Tampa Bay Buccaneers 14 - With all the injuries at quarterback, running back, and receiver, it still amazes me that the Texans are 6-7 and still fighting for a playoff birth. Gary Kubiak appears to be the right man for the Houston job. This team could be a playoff team the next few seasons provided that the front office is committed to winning.
New York Giants 16, Philadelphia Eagles 13 - I had a feeling the Giants would sneak out with this one. Philadelphia seems to be a little distraught ever since their Sunday Night loss to the Pats two weeks ago. On the other hand, another late season collapse doesn't appear to be in store for the New York Giants. It's a solid win for the Eli and company as the also clinch a playoff birth.
Jacksonville Jaguars 37, Carolina Panthers 6 - Not much to watch here. Jacksonville improves to 9-4 while David Garrard throws for two touchdowns and Fred Taylor has another on a 100+ yard rushing day. On the other side, John Fox's hot seat might be getting a little hotter.
