Red Sox Ticket Brokers = Red Sox Scalpers?

My good friend Sean who is a writer over at Red Sox Super Fan (great site by the way) recently wrote an article on the horrible ticket situation that surrounds the Red Sox and games played in Fenway Park. One of the points that Sean brings up is the fact that ticket brokers like Higs Tickets are really no different from your grease ball sweat pant bad glasses wearing scum bags who sell tickets outside of Fenway. And you know what, I tend to agree, the only real difference between the scumbag on the street and the scumbag on the internet is that you can use your credit card with the scum bag on the internet.

This puts me in a little bit of a conundrum because I do have ticket brokers who sponsor this site. The way I look at it is that I know I'll be writing and creating for this blog no matter who I have sponsoring me or not so if they want to give me money so I can go to games then I'm all for it.

It's good to have options I guess (ticket brokers & scalpers) however there is something wrong about increasing the price of face on tickets by over 500%, but I guess that's the All-American way, by making a quick buck by exploiting a demand that ends up leaving the real fan watching games on FOX, and not at Fenway Park.

What pisses me off most about Higs Tickets is that they sent Sean and RSSF a rather scathing e-mail after his post. Jim from Higs went on to say at one point the following: > > "Calling me brazzen? We facilitate dreams buddy. We sell to those who want and can afford. So f*** you, F*** your contributor Sean Caulfield, and f*** your blog, it sucks."

Wow...they even talk like the guys outside of Fenway Park. You are what you are I guess, but please Jim from Higs, don't try and pretend you facilitate dreams, OK buddy? The Red Sox facilitate dreams, you make an exorbitant profit off of what they sell and corner people into spending well above the actual value of the ticket. People like Sean and I write blogs and talk about the Sox because we have a genuine love, passion, & interest for the Red Sox. You kind sir are a scalper, and no one likes a scalper. The biggest difference between you and I is that you want the Red Sox to do well so that you can charge even more for "your" tickets. I want the Red Sox to do well because I want to see my team succeed. So Jim I'll take the words from your mouth and send it right back.

Eff you Higs, eff your employee Jim, eff your scalping agency, it sucks.

Oh, and just in case you were looking to get a ticket from Higs for Game 1 of the World Series (if the Sox are lucky enough to get there) they're charging $1,045.00 each for upper, upper bleachers. These tickets go for $23.00 during the regular season. So again, eff you Jim.
