Red Maloney (Gerald Stack Maloney) was born on September 5, 1901 in Ware, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Worcester (MA), Maloney attended Dartmouth College. Maloney made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Providence Steam Roller. He played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Boston Bulldogs, New York Yankees and Providence Steam Roller over the course of his 3 year NFL career.Maloney also played in the AFLG for 1 year, playing for the New York Yankees the entire time.

Most people believe that 1925 was Red Maloney's best year, as he ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
