Red Howard (Albert Franklin Howard) was born on November 23, 1900 in Haverhill, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Haverhill (MA), Howard attended Princeton University and the University of New Hampshire. Howard made his professional debut in the AFLG in 1926 with the Brooklyn Horsemen. He played in the AFLG for 1 year, playing for the Brooklyn Horsemen the entire time. Howard also played in the NFL for 1 year, playing for the New York Giants the entire time.
