Red Hickey (Howard Wayne Hickey) was born on February 14, 1917 in Clarksville, Arkansas. After going to high school at Clarksville (AR), Hickey attended the University of Arkansas. Hickey made his professional debut in the NFL in 1941 with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He played for the Los Angeles Rams, Cleveland Rams and Pittsburgh Steelers over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that 1948 was Red Hickey's best year, as he had 509 receiving yards and caught 7 TD passes.
