Red Heater (William Alfred Heater) was born on September 22, 1918 in Reading, Pennsylvania. After going to high school at Reading (PA), Heater attended Syracuse University. Heater made his professional debut in the NFL in 1940 with the Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 1 year career.
