Red Embree
[edit] Biography
Born on August 30, 1917 in El Monte, California, Red Embree (Charles Willard Embree) played for the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 8 year career. Embree broke into the bigs on September 10, 1941 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 3.86 ERA in 63 innings pitched in 1942, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Red Embree's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1946, when he posted a 3.46 ERA and struck out 87 batters. However, others believe that it was 1945, when he posted a 1.93 ERA.
