Red Downs

Red Downs (Jerome Willis Downs) was born on August 23, 1883 in Neola, Iowa. He made his Major League debut on May 2, 1907 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1907, his rookie year, he hit .219 with 1 home run and 42 RBI. Downs played for the Detroit Tigers, Chicago Cubs and Brooklyn Superbas over the course of his 3 year career.
