Red Card
A punishment handed out by a referee to a player signifying that they have been ejected from the game, and that their team must play the remaining time with one less player. Red cards are usually handed out for the most severe fouls, with the intent to injure another player, or if a player purposely commits a foul of an obvious goal scoring opportunity (i.e. a non-goalie using his hands to save a ball from going into the goal). They can also recieve a red card for earning two Yellow Cards during the game.
If a goalie recieves a red card, he must be replaced at his position, either by an alternative goal if the team has substitutions left, or by another player already on the field.
