Red Borom (Edward Jones Borom) was born on October 30, 1915 in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 23, 1944 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1945, his rookie year, he hit .269 with 0 home runs and 9 RBI. Borom played for the Detroit Tigers for his entire 2 year career.
