Born on February 14, 1915 in Santa Barbara, California, Red Barrett (Charles Henry Barrett) played for the Cincinnati Reds, Boston Braves and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 11 year career. Barrett broke into the bigs on September 15, 1937 with the Cincinnati Reds, and put up a 3.18 ERA in 255 innings pitched in 1943, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Red Barrett's best season was 1945, when he posted a 3.00 ERA, won 23 games and struck out 76 batters.
