Red Barnes (Emile Deering Barnes) was born on December 25, 1903 in Suggsville, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on September 29, 1927 for the Washington Senators. In 1928, his rookie year, he hit .305 with 6 home runs and 51 RBI. Barnes played for the Washington Senators and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 4 year career.
Most people believe that Red Barnes's best season was 1928, when he hit for a .305 average and knocked in 51 runs.
