Rebel Oakes

Rebel Oakes (Ennis Telfair Oakes) was born on December 17, 1883 in Lisbon, Louisiana. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1909 for the Cincinnati Reds. In 1909, his rookie year, he hit .270 with 3 home runs and 31 RBI. Oakes played for the Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Rebels over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that Rebel Oakes's best season was 1914, when he stole 28 bases, hit for a .312 average and knocked in 75 runs.
