Born on March 12, 1889 in Jackson, Mississippi, Reb Russell (Ewell Albert Russell) played for the Chicago White Sox and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 9 year career. Russell broke into the bigs on April 18, 1913 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 1.90 ERA in 316.2 innings pitched in 1913, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Reb Russell's best season was 1913, when he posted a 1.90 ERA, won 22 games and struck out 122 batters.
