I have a question. What gear ratios are used on short track verses long track races?

Er... Well on road circuits, long circuits need long gear ratios, this gives them a higher top speed. The less corners there are, the longer the gear ratio. The way you set it up is - you make sure you change gear uniformly so that you max out at the top of your highest gear at the end of the straight - i.e. so you aren't at max revs for too long (which would damage the engine).
