The New York Giants are getting ready for the Miami Dolphins in London. Success has been accomplished by the Giants and more is coming.
It's different for the Giants, because their playing in London.
The Dolphins are 0-7 on the season; it shouldn't be hard for the Giants to succeed.
"I told the players, you just put a smile on your face and realize that some things aren't going to run as smoothly as you're used to," Tom Coughlin said.
It's uncomfortable, but it’s against the Dolphins. The Giants should win, and enjoy another victory."
"At some point in time, obviously, the people, the higher-ups, the Maras and the Tischs, made the decision that we could play this game," Coughlin said. "So we'll go with that."
Playing pre-season games overseas is great, but not regular season games. It's not entertaining, and hopefully it doesn't continue. The NFL is in the United States, and that should remain. London already has a football league, and they don't play in the United States. The people in London don't care who wins in the NFL.
It took time, but the Giants gotten formula.
"Earlier in the meetings, you could see people were tired," Michael Strahan said. "They looked beaten up pretty badly. But now, everyone's awake, feeling good. Now the test is to see if they can go back to the hotel and stay awake until it's time to go to bed. That's the key."
It's important to get comfortable, because it helps on the field.
"Me and my wife were surrounded by like 10 300- and 350-pound guys," Lemon said. "We were crammed in together. We heard a lot of jokes, a lot of weird noises."
It’s different in London, because the atmosphere and cultures aren't the same. The Dolphins and Giants are experiencing something different.
"When you're losing some games, it's nice to get something to break up the rhythm a bit," Jay Feely said. "That could work to our advantage. When you're winning, you don't want anything to change, and coaches in particular are very focused on trying to keep everything the same, whether it's the day you go out, the time you go out, the food you eat on the plane."
There's nothing to worry about, just play and win.
"As I've said, normally, it's total tunnel vision. I've expanded that a little bit in this particular area. But still, we're here for one reason and one reason only, and that's to play a very, very important football game. The players are fully aware of what's at stake. We do enjoy the idea of winning."
Osi Umenyiora was born in London, but isn't formula with the area. He's excited, but wants to win.
"It's just another game. It's special because we are in the United Kingdom and it's special because this is where I am from, but besides that we have to go 6-2," Umenyiora said.
Winning is important, and Umenyiora wants to "smack" the Dolphins.
"It's not like the NFL is going to say 'OK, we are in London so it doesn't count'. It's just as important as any other game I have played in."
The Giants are excited, because playing in London doesn't happen everytime.
"This is a big deal and the players and coaches realize that this is something special that hasn't happened before, “Eli Manning said. "We are honored to be a part of it and we are honored to be chosen as the first one to do it along with Miami and try to put on a show. I'm pleased that people are excited about it. I'm looking forward to seeing Wembley Stadium and seeing what that is all about."
The Giants need to win, because their still competing in the NFC East.
