[edit] Biography

Born on December 26, 1940 in Kansas City, Kansas, Ray Sadecki (Raymond Michael Sadecki) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, Kansas City Royals, Atlanta Braves and Milwaukee Brewers over the course of his 18 year career. Sadecki broke into the bigs on May 19, 1960 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.78 ERA in 157.1 innings pitched in 1960, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Ray Sadecki's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1964, when he posted a 3.68 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 119 batters. However, others believe that it was 1968, when he posted a 2.91 ERA, won 12 games and struck out 206 batters.
