Born on June 6, 1897 in Emporia, Kansas, Ray Pierce (Raymond Lester Pierce) played for the Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 3 year career. Pierce broke into the bigs on May 12, 1924 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 5.50 ERA in 90 innings pitched in 1925, his rookie year.
