Ray Pepper (Raymond Watson Pepper) was born on August 5, 1905 in Decatur, Alabama. He made his Major League debut on April 15, 1932 for the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1934, his rookie year, he hit .298 with 7 home runs and 101 RBI. Pepper played for the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 5 year career.

Most people believe that Ray Pepper's best season was 1934, when he hit for a .298 average and knocked in 101 runs.
