Ray Narleski
[edit] Biography
Born on November 25, 1928 in Camden, New Jersey, Ray Narleski (Raymond Edmond Narleski) played for the Cleveland Indians and Detroit Tigers over the course of his 6 year career. Narleski broke into the bigs on April 17, 1954 with the Cleveland Indians, and put up a 2.22 ERA in 89 innings pitched in 1954, his rookie year.
There is some disagreement on what was Ray Narleski's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1957, when he posted a 3.09 ERA, won 11 games, notched 16 saves and struck out 93 batters. However, others believe that it was 1955, when he posted a 3.71 ERA, notched 19 saves and struck out 94 batters.
