Ray Murray

Ray Murray (Raymond Lee Murray) was born on October 12, 1917 in Spring Hope, North Carolina. He made his Major League debut on April 25, 1948 for the Cleveland Indians. In 1950, his rookie year, he hit .273 with 1 home run and 13 RBI. Murray played for the Cleveland Indians, Philadelphia Athletics and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 5 year career.
Most people believe that Ray Murray's best season was 1953, when he hit for a .284 average.
