Ray Lininger (Raymond Jack Lininger) was born on June 27, 1927 in Van Wert, Ohio. After going to high school at Van Wert (OH), Lininger attended Ohio State University. Lininger made his professional debut in the NFL in 1950 with the Detroit Lions. He played for the Detroit Lions for his entire 2 year career.

Most people believe that 1950 was Ray Lininger's best year, as he picked off 3 passes.
