Born on March 8, 1893 in Sherman, Texas, Ray Francis (Ray James Francis) played for the Washington Senators, Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 3 year career. Francis broke into the bigs on April 18, 1922 with the Washington Senators, and put up a 4.28 ERA in 225 innings pitched in 1922, his rookie year.
