Ray Flaherty (Ray Paul Flaherty) was born on September 1, 1904 in Spokane, Washington. After going to high school at Gonzaga (Spokane, WA), Flaherty attended Gonzaga University and Washington State Universtiy. Flaherty made his professional debut in the AFLG in 1926 with the Los Angeles Wildcats. He played in the AFLG for 1 year, playing for the Los Angeles Wildcats the entire time. Flaherty also played in the NFL for 8 years, playing for the New York Giants and New York Yankees over the course of his 8 year NFL career.

Most people believe that 1932 was Ray Flaherty's best year, as he caught 5 TD passes.
