Ray Burks (Raymond Charles Burks, Jr.) was born on March 9, 1955 in Gardena, California. After going to high school at Gardena (CA), Burks attended the University of California - Los Angeles. Burks made his professional debut in the NFL in 1977 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs for his entire 1 year career.
