Raul Mondesi (Raul Ramon (Avelino) Mondesi) was born on March 12, 1971 in San Cristobal, San Cristobal (Dominican Republic). He made his Major League debut on July 19, 1993 for the Los Angeles Dodgers. In 1994, his rookie year, he hit .306 with 16 home runs and 56 RBI. Mondesi played for the Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Arizona Diamondbacks, Pittsburgh Pirates, Anaheim Angels and Atlanta Braves over the course of his 13 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Raul Mondesi's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1997, when he slugged 30 home runs, stole 32 bases, hit for a .310 average and knocked in 87 runs. However, others believe that it was 1999, when he slugged 33 home runs, stole 36 bases and knocked in 99 runs.
