Born on October 23, 1952 in Florence, Alabama, Randy Tate (Randall Lee Tate) played for the New York Mets for his entire 1 year career. Tate broke into the bigs on April 14, 1975 with the New York Mets, and put up a 4.45 ERA in 137.2 innings pitched in 1975, his rookie year.
