Random Thoughts and Brutal Honesty II

- How stupid must the Houston Texans feel right now. How does it feel to know that future Texans fans can go on databasefootball.com and rehash the fact that they've passed on Reggie Bush, Vince Young and you can even say Matt Leinart as well. Not to mention having to be constantly reminded of their unbelieveable screwup with Bush's team on cruise control towards the playoffs and Vince Young running through the NFL like wildfire. The Texans are just 4-9 and have proceeded not to move a single step forward so far in their short NFL tenure. Maybe now they'll draft a QB in the NFL Draft.

The Indianapolis Colts will be quickly shown the door in these playoffs unless they fix their putrid run defense{if you can even call it that} The Jags proceeded to run circles, squares, rectangles and rhombuses all over the Colts. Their offense dosen't even look in sync like it did last year and an injured Brandon Stokley dosen't help. Colts fans should download FatBoy's Slim's hit, "Can't Stop the Run" and send it to the franchise in hopes of a miracle. Let's face it, The Colts D has as much an identity as the New York Knicks. {My first New York Knicks jab of this article}

The Bengals went from a team dead in the water at 5-5 to being in the driver's seat in the Wild-card chase at 8-5. Their defense is steadily improving week by week. Now if only their players can conduct themselves like adults off the field. Another arrest for the Bengals courtesy of a DWI by Deltha O'Neal. I'm waiting for the next Bengal arrest, which will be on the show Cops.

Congrats to the second coming of LT, LaDainian Tomlinson for breaking the TD record against an overrated, overexposed and overhyped Bronco defense. Tomlinson is the runaway choice for MVP and is on course to be the greatest running back in the history of this League when it's all said and done. This Charger team is the class of the AFC.

Allen Iverson has finally had enough of the Philly Cheesesteaks and wants out. Well, It's time for the Minnesota Timberpuppies to finally own up to Kevin Garnett and notch AI. Troy Hudson, Marko Jaric and Ricky Davis would be your trade bait. In the words of my idol, Larry the Cable Guy, Giterdone!!!

It's time for some hype on the New Orleans Saints. First the hype was on the Chicago Bears until Rex Grossman's current mental meltdown that could launch Griese into action. Then It was on Dallas and the Romo Empire. But New Orleans sent a nationwide message with their beatdown of the Cowboys on Sunday Night. They're currently playing the best out of any team in the NFC. Sean Payton might have finalized the Coach of the Year chase. For what the City of New Orleans has been through, everyone should have some room in their hearts for the Saints.

Pettitte comes back to his rightful place as a New York Yankee. Roger Clemens might be following right behind him.

It might be possible that Byron Leftwich may not be a Jaguar next year. The team has done very well under David Garrard and his mobility and Leftwich can't be counted on to stay healthy.

It's a shame the Miami Dolphins waits till they're 1-7 to start playing football. They're playing like a serious contender when it's too late. They did it last year too, which is even more disturbing.

Congratulations to Troy Smith on winning the Heisman Trophy. His story of mere tragedy to triumph brought me to the brim of tears when I read it on ESPN.com. Despite all he went through, he came out stronger and better for it. Everyone that played a role in his development also won on Saturday Night. This reminds us that we should thank God for each and every situation we encounter.
