Ramon Castro (Ramon Abraham Castro) was born on March 1, 1976 in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico. He made his Major League debut on August 27, 1999 for the Florida Marlins. In 2000, his rookie year, he hit .239 with 2 home runs and 14 RBI. Castro played for the Florida Marlins and New York Mets over the course of his 8 year career.

- Castro is married with three children, and resides in Vega Baja, Puerto Rico.
- In November, he was charged for a rape that allegedly occurred in a hotel room in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on August 28, 2003. On November 29, he pleaded no-contest to reduced misdemeanor indecent assault charges and was sentenced to a year of probation.
