Ralph Heywood

Ralph Heywood (Ralph Alvin Heywood) was born on September 11, 1921 in Los Angeles, California. After going to high school at Huntington Park (CA), Heywood attended the University of Southern California. Heywood made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1946 with the Chicago Rockets. He played in the AAFC for 1 year, playing for the Chicago Rockets the entire time. Heywood also played in the NFL for 3 years, playing for the Detroit Lions and New York Bulldogs over the course of his 3 year NFL career.
Most people believe that 1949 was Ralph Heywood's best year, as he hauled in 37 receptions and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
