Ralph Claypool (Ralph LeClaire Claypool) was born on December 15, 1898 in Blue Grass, Iowa. After going to high school at Central (Davenport, IA), Claypool attended Purdue University. Claypool made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 4 year career.
