Born on February 11, 1929 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Ralph Beard (Ralph William Beard) played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 1 year career. Beard broke into the bigs on June 29, 1954 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.72 ERA in 58 innings pitched in 1954, his rookie year.
