RB situation...

I thought the topic of our RBs was one that needed to be addressed. I know last year we ran all over the Saints and preseason games are pretty much meaningless, nevertheless, Carey Davis and Gary Russell are worth talking about.

Davis ran for 68 yards including a nice 56-yard run. I like the way this kid runs. He always dropped his head and squared his shoulders. Some people say he's too slow for a RB. But Jerome Bettis wasn't all that fast, but his technique was incredible. Also, Russell looked pretty impressive in Sunday night's victory. He has a lot of talent and he seems like he's matured since flunking out of Minnesota.

I know it's too early to call roster spots. But if Davis continues to produce in a similar fashion I think he deserves to make the team. I think we need to see more of Russell, but if Haynes is battling injuries and Barlow continues to be lackluster, it wouldn't surprise me to see him make the team. We all know how much the Rooney's like undrafted RBs.
